Dowerin Field Days 2026: Conversations, Connections and Regional Workforce Support
After months of preparation, Western Advisory Co attended the 2026 Dowerin Machinery Field Days—and what a fantastic two days it was.
It was a valuable opportunity to step away from the desk, meet business owners from across regional Western Australia and hear directly about the workforce challenges they are facing.
One thing that stood out was how many regional businesses are dealing with similar issues. Finding suitable employees, keeping up with workplace requirements, managing performance and having the right HR processes in place can be difficult—particularly when you are already responsible for the everyday demands of running a business.
For many employers, HR is something that only receives attention when a problem arises. However, having clear employment documents, practical workplace policies and consistent processes in place can prevent smaller issues from becoming much larger ones.
Practical HR Support for Regional Businesses
Western Advisory Co was established to provide practical and approachable workforce support to regional employers.
Having worked across agriculture, horticulture and other regional industries for more than a decade, I understand that regional businesses need advice that works in the real world. Policies and processes must be compliant, but they also need to be practical for the people who will actually use them.
Western Advisory Co can assist businesses with:
Employment contracts and workplace documentation
HR policies and procedures
Employee onboarding and induction processes
Performance management and workplace concerns
Workforce planning
Recruitment preparation and candidate screening support
PALM Scheme workforce compliance and administration
Reviewing or establishing practical HR systems
Support can be provided for a specific workplace issue, a one-off project or on an ongoing basis, depending on what the business needs.
Thank You, Dowerin
A sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by the Western Advisory Co stand, took a brochure, entered our promotion or simply had a conversation with us.
It was encouraging to meet so many people who are passionate about the future of regional Western Australia. The conversations we had reinforced why I started Western Advisory Co: regional employers deserve access to professional HR and workforce support that understands their industries, communities and operating environments.
The Field Days may be over, but the conversations are only beginning. I will be following up with the businesses and individuals who expressed an interest in learning more about how Western Advisory Co may be able to support them.
If you missed us at Dowerin—or took one of our brochures and would like to continue the conversation—I would love to hear from you.
